Respite Care
Caring for a loved one is a precious and deeply rewarding responsibility but we understand that it can also be demanding and, at times, overwhelming. It’s important to remember that you don’t have to do it alone. Woolgoolga and District Retirement Village is here to support you and your loved one when you need a helping hand.
Respite care allows carers the chance to take some time out for themselves and provides new experiences for cherished loved ones. At Woolgoolga and District Retirement Village, we provide respite care in our Aged Care Centre.
Having the person you are caring for come and stay with us at our comfortable and well-appointed centre is the ideal way to get respite care needed for short or long term. When your loved one join us, they’ll enjoy a room, meals, 24-hour care and lifestyle and social preferences are catered for. Stays can range from seven days up to 63 days. This will allow you a much needed break to be able to undertake self-care, secure in the knowledge that the person you care for is in safe hands.
To be eligible for respite care, a person must first be assessed by a member of the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). Following this assessment, they must have a current Aged Care Application and Approval Form (ACCR) confirming their eligibility to receive either High or Low Care respite.
